14 miles completed!

Ran at 7 am this morning. 14 miles all throughout Jersey City and Liberty State Park. I have to say that my training has been going well so far. After the run, I stuck both feet up to my calves in a bucket of ice water for 20 minutes. They say this will present tendinitis from coming on...I say...it's f'n cold!! However, since I started doing this after my long runs, I have felt amazing the next day.

Taking a nap shortly followed by my trip to Zeppelin Hall as I mentioned yesterday. My in-laws are in town and Bernie just loves beer so I am sure he will enjoy this place.

14 miles tomorrow!!

Hello all. Been a few days since I last posted. Thanks for all of the donations!! Much appreciated. My wife had back surgery this week and she's been on the shelf. She's feeling a lot better with the pressure off of the sciatic nerve.

I'm running the 14 miles in Liberty State Park. Lots of circles and back tracks but the course is pretty flat. Then I am looking forward to some beers at the new Biergarten in Jersey City "Zeppelin Hall" They have over 50 beers on tap. Great place to have a few 32 oz brewskis outside.

Hope all is well.

Over $6,000

We passed $6,000 today with another donation. On our way. I'm trying to set up a guest bartending event in the city sometime in the near future. Also working on that comedy event...need to secure a place.

Now running 6 miles on Friday morning and then 12 miles on Sunday.

Here I go again on my own....

OK....Haven't had a good rant in awhile. So Mr Reynolds is now going to be the "Green Lantern" in a new DC comics film. Seems like I had great timing with attempting to beat his time in the marathon. Little did I know that I would have to try and beat a "Super Hero". Sheesh, I'm just a retailer...how can I possible beat the damn green lantern...anyway..The green latern has a "power ring" which gives him control over the physical world. OK...whatever..it'll be nice to beat "Deadpool" and the "Green Lantern" in the marathon....and I won't even have a power ring.

Running 6 miles in the AM and then 12 miles on Friday. On Saturday, I'm heading to Canal Street to look for a "Power Ring"...word has it that you can find anything there...7 Jeans, True Religion...or a Power Ring...whatever....

Have a good night! Tim

great 4th and run

Wonderful 4th of July. Hope everyone had fun at the party. Great seeing everyone.

I ran 6 miles in the morning. Felt pretty good. I have a long run in central park this weekend. It's part of the Long Training Runs in central park supported by NYRR. It's great. They have pace teams, water, gatorade, bagels, etc. Nice to run with a group on these long runs.

Even after the 4th, I still weigh 204. So, that was successful. I ate a lot but I also ate very well in the AM as well as Sunday and Monday. Targeting August 1st to be below 200 lbs and 196 for the NYC Half marathon on August 16th. Stay tuned.

Donations are going well. Up to $5905 right now. Trying to get to $8,000 for August 1st.

Thanks everyone! Tim

7 miles this afternoon!!

Ran 7 miles in the park after work today. Great run. 8:20 per mile so I'm getting there. Burned 1140 calories or about the amount of calories in that Ben and Jerry's tub. I think a pretty good trade off. I weigh 204 today...getting closer to the magical 200 lb mark. I don't know if I've mentioned this but the last time I've been below 200 lbs was in 1997. Looks like I can get there in a couple weeks as long as I don't destroy everything in my path on the 4th of July.

Running 11 miles on Saturday morning. The best thing about the long runs from here on out is the following:

1) I'll burn over 1600 per run
2) Keeps my alcohol intake low or zero the night before
3) I NAP like a CHAMP!! about 3 hours after my long run...I'm talkin drool on the pillow napping...which is the highest level of napping possible.

BTW, today is the craziest weather day ever! Sunshine, clouds, drizzle, pour, sunshine, pour, sunshine, clouds, etc, etc, etc.

Have a great 4th of July weekend!
